Google Updates 2016

Change the Way You Google

Google has been the ruler of the search universe since search engines became part of our daily lives.

Constantly updating and throwing spammers for a spin, doing their best to make sure the very best quality content is at the top of every search performed by a Google user.

With Google’s increasing lack of trust or tolerance for even the slightest mishap, and their clear dominance in the search-engine industry, it is crucial to keep up-to-date with any of their algorithm updates or current events, whether they’re officially announced or if there are just rumors of sudden sizable rank changes over webmaster chatter.

So here is the latest update…

Something major is occurring with the Google algorithm this month, but currently there is no official release or announcement. Looking at two algorithm monitoring sites, the Google Grump has been more… grumpy… this month than usual, and MozCast.com is registering stormy Google weather. Many webmasters have been reporting more rank movements than normal. At the beginning of September, a major spike occurred, boosting many sites which had been negatively affected with past updates. These last few days have been heating up as well. A pattern with site speed has been noted by an experiment done by some webmasters – the top three pages had <1 second load time compared to longer load times down the page.

There is a lot of focus on mobile, speed, simplicity, and quality. Stay in tune and engaged with your industry, its popular trends and content. It’s your marketing agency’s job to worry about the nitty gritty details and continue to keep you updated on major changes and industry news. Here at Concept Co. we’ve decided to compile the most relevant of these into an easy-to-read format, so you can remain up-to-date while continuing to focus on running your business!
